An office action sets out the grounds for rejection and a response deadline. We analyze the grounds, decide which claims to amend and how to argue, and file the response and amendments before the deadline. Amendments can only use what the original specification and drawings already disclose, so we look for a way to keep useful rights within that.

An extension can be requested. The extension period is limited, so tell us as soon as you receive the notice.

My AI-drafted specification needs a lot of changes. Can it be rewritten?

Content not in the specification as filed cannot be added by amendment. We respond within what is there, and if less than a year has passed since the first filing, we also consider a new application claiming domestic priority.

What if the rejection cannot be overcome?

After a final rejection you can request re-examination or appeal. We advise which is better, with costs.
